Big Bend National Park - Couples Session in the Chisos Basin

Big Bend National Park in West Texas is such a special place, and it became all that more special to be able to photograph Andrea + Katy in the Chisos Basin.

Andrea + Katy just moved to West Texas full time after living in Austin, and this session was a way to capture the exciting season they're entering. Getting to chat with them about the unique wildlife and foliage of West Texas was amazing- especially since Katy is a Naturalist and studies plant life intimately. We talked about our shared experience of living in Austin while stopping to admire bugs, cacti and flowers along the way. I was so thrilled to be able to photograph them in a place that we all hold dear. We planned to capture some photos under the stars, but because the clouds rolled in, we decided to end the session simply enjoying the slow and beautiful transition from day to night.
